ATHLETIC EVENTS STADIUM POLICY The Seminole County School District is announcing that enhanced safety and security measures will be implemented at all athletic events. All spectators will be required to go through metal detectors at the entrance. ALL BAGS MUST BE CLEAR AT SPORTING EVENTS Fans carrying bags that do not meet the criteria will be turned away at the gate. They will have the opportunity to return prohibited items to the cars Fans are strongly urged not to bring bags into events, but here's what you need to know if you do: • One clear tote bag (plastic) per person is permitted. • Clear bags cannot be tinted or have large graphics that obstruct visibility. • Family care items (diapers, formula, etc.) must be included in the clear tote bag. • All bags are subject to be searched. • Prohibited items include (but are not limited to) fanny packs, backpacks, duffel bags, coolers, briefcases, diaper bags, cinch bags, luggage of any kind and computer bags. • Exceptions include students participating in the event (athletes, cheerleaders, musicians, etc.), officials/referees and Seminole County School System employees or employees visiting from out-of-district schools may bring bags that are necessary for the event. Bags necessary for approved medical equipment are permitted. Frequently Asked Questions What happens if I show up at an event with a bag that is not permitted? Fans carrying bags that do not meet the criteria will be turned away from the gates. They will have the opportunity to return prohibited items to their car. If I have certain medically necessary items that I need to bring into the stadium that will not fit in a clear bag, what do I do? An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection. Are all purses prohibited? No. Small clutch purses no larger than 4.5”x6.5”, with or without a handle or strap, are permitted along with the clear bag. We encourage fans to attend without any bags. Do I have to put everything I’m carrying into the permissible bag? No. This procedure limits the types of bags coming into the event, not the types of items you normally bring to a game. You can still carry items such as keys, feminine products, phone, or wallet in your pockets or jacket. Items such as cameras can be carried by hand or around your neck, a blanket can be draped over your arm. Will the media or student athletes participating in the event be allowed to bring bags into the venue? Yes. Members of the media with a press credential will be allowed to bring equipment bags into the venue; however, these are subject to inspection. Student athletes actively participating in the event at the stadium may also carry their equipment bags; however, these are also subject to inspection. What about other events or those activities held at other schools? The “clear bag or no bag” procedure is in place at all Seminole County School System athletic events.

Attention 7th and 11th grade parents please note there has been a DEADLINE change for Immunization Records due to state recommendations. The new deadline is October 14th. Please be sure your child is compliant with their state-required immunizations. GA LAW REQUIRES all students entering the 7th grade receive one dose of Tdap and one dose of the MCV4 vaccine. For those students entering 11th grade who are 16 years of age or older Georgia law requires they receive a booster dose of the MCV4. The only exception to not receiving these vaccinations/immunizations under the law is a medical exemption from your child's physician which is good for 1 year or a religious exemption which never expires. These must be documented on the proper forms. Failure to comply with this law puts your child in danger of being WITHDRAWN from school until they are compliant!! If you have any questions please contact our school nurse Tina Calhoun.
