Five students from the SCHS Band were honored to attend the 49th Annual Southeastern United States Honor Band & Clinic Weekend at Troy University in Troy, Alabama last weekend. Kynia Blake (9th grade, bass clarinet), Kyauna Blake (9th grade, flute), Kendall Denham (9th grade, clarinet), Pearson Fields (9thgrade, saxophone), and Arabella Touchton (10th grade, trumpet) were selected by SCHS director by Dr. Dallas Burke to represent the SCHS Band at the three-day event. These students, along with over four-hundred high-school musicians across the southeast, enjoyed incredible performances by professional bands, such as Boston Brass, as well as talented high-school and college bands, such as the Troy University Symphony Band.
