Five Star Credit Union Teaches Students the Basics of Banking
Middle and high school students in the Seminole Learning Center recently had the opportunity to learn real-world financial skills during a special visit from representatives of Five Star Credit Union. The presentation focused on the Basics of Banking, helping students understand essential financial concepts such as managing a bank account, saving responsibly, and making informed financial decisions.
During the session, students also received hands-on instruction on how to properly write a check — an important life skill that supports financial independence and responsibility. Presenters engaged students through practical examples and interactive discussion, allowing them to ask questions and connect banking concepts to everyday life.
This partnership reflects the district’s commitment to preparing students for success beyond the classroom by providing meaningful financial literacy experiences and practical life skills.

New Traffic Guidelines for Our New K-12 School Campus
As we prepare to begin school in January at our new K-12 campus, we want to share important traffic updates and new procedures for student drop-off and pick-up. With a new building comes new traffic patterns designed to improve safety, efficiency, and supervision for all students.
This post includes a Traffic Guidelines Quick Sheet and map diagrams for each drop-off and pick-up area. We strongly encourage all families to review these materials before the first day back.
As with any transition, there may be a learning curve during the first few days. We ask for your patience, flexibility, and cooperation as students, staff, and families adjust to the new routines. Our team will be on site to help direct traffic and assist as needed.
Thank you for working with us to keep our campus safe and moving smoothly. We are excited to welcome everyone to our new school in January!

REMINDER: Georgia law now requires each school district to prepare and practice intruder drills yearly in the event of an incident. Seminole County Schools will conduct these drills at both schools on September 3, 2025 in conjunction with the Seminole County Sheriff’s Department. The safety and welfare of our students, teachers, and staff are high priorities in the Seminole County School District. If you have questions about the intruder drills, please contact the district safety coordinator, Dr. Marie Godwin.
