Seminole County School System Makes AYP!!!
The state and federal DOE have certified school systems that have made AYP system-wide as of Novmeber 2nd, 2011. It is with great pleasure that the Seminole County School System finds ourself in that group of systems! Seminole County was in the top 27 school systems out of 181 systems state wide last year and are in the top 49 of 181 school systems this year, placing us in the top 27% of school systems in the state of Georgia. This is an outstanding achievement and a great reflection on the accomplishments of our students, staff, administration and the community of Seminole County!
While being noted as one of the most poverty stricken counties in the state (in the poorest 20% of the state), your school system is ranked in the top 27% of schools in the state. Thank you for helping to make this possible by the overwhelming support of the parents, businesses, merchants, PTOs, Lions Clubs, churches and other groups who do so much to support our children. This is obviously a school based community and a wonderful place to live and raise our children, where education is valued and appreciated!
