REACH Scholarship Induction Ceremony

January 29, 2021, marked a very special day for some of our students.  On this day, Seminole County Middle High School hosted its very first REACH Georgia Signing Day Ceremony.

REACH (Realizing Education Achievement Can Happen) Georgia is a needs-based scholarship that begins in 8th grade.  REACH Scholars are paired with a mentor and an academic coach through high school. Scholars must maintain good grades, good behavior and attendance through middle school and high school. Scholars who successfully complete the program and graduate from high school are awarded a $10,000 scholarship.

Those students who signed to participate in this program are Kynia Blake, Jozlyn Cobb, Madison Deese, Deshawn Edwards, and Gabrielle Hunter. We asked two students what they thought about this opportunity. Deshawn Edwards says,”I think this is a great opportunity for me because I challenge myself and this sets me up for success in the future.” Madison Deese told us, ”This program helps students like me get into college and become successful by providing a good support system for my life when I grow up and attend college.”

Congratulations! We can’t wait to watch you reach for education achievement!
