Advanc-Ed will be conducting our accreditation review this year for Seminole County Schools. Parents are asked to complete a survey for part of this process. Your responses will help to identify areas where we excel and areas where we can improve.
If you are a parent of one or more students in our school system, we ask that you complete the following survey. If you ave already completed it, we thank you! The deadline to complete the survey is January 6, 2017. If you have any questions regarding this survey, please contact your school principal.
Mrs. Godwin is a graduate of Seminole County High School. She has a B.S. degree in Home Economics from the University of Georgia. She has a M.S. degree and an Ed. S. degree in Early Childhood Education from Troy Dothan. She also has Media Specialist Certification from Valdosta State. She has been an educator at Seminole County Schools for 23 years. She has taught 4th, 5th and 7th grades. The past 7 years she has been the Media Specialist for SCES. Mrs. Godwin is also a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, Alpha Omicron Chapter.
Mrs. Godwin is the daughter of Patricia Thursby and the late Bill Thursby. She is married to Kevin Godwin, a Coach and Physical Education teacher at the Seminole County Middle/High. They have one daughter, Ava, who is 12 and in the 7th grade. They attend Donalsonville First Presbyterian Church.
Principal Pierce adds, “It is a great pleasure to work with Mrs. Godwin every day. She has a way of making learning fun in the media center. Mrs. Godwin is very deserving of this accomplishment.”
Mrs.Hodges is dedicated to reaching her full potential through education. She is actively involved in school projects, clubs, and organizations, is extremely dependable and will go the extra mile in fulfilling her responsibilities.
System Teacher of the Year: Rendy GodwinBeing selected as a Teacher of the Year is a tremendous honor. I am very proud of all our teachers and especially proud for those who have been honored by their peers to represent them as their Teacher of the Year. Congratulations to Mrs. Hodges for her selection as the Middle/High Teacher of the Year. We want to give special congratulations to Mrs. Rendy Godwin for being selected as the Elementary School Teacher of the Year and Seminole County School System Teacher of the Year. Great job Mrs. Godwin!

Mr. Register, Seminole County Superintendent stated "I received a great deal of feedback, ideas, suggestions, and special requests concerning the makeup of the calendar. All of the concerns and suggestions were related to what was best for the students as well as teachers and community."

An informational meeting will be held at the Seminole County Board of Education Office on Monday, April 11th 2016 at 4:00pm to provide information and receive input on the Strategic Waiver application the local board will submit to the Georgia Department of Education. This meeting is open to the public.
The Middle/High School Teacher of the Year, and the District Teacher of the Year is Mr. Keith Helms. Mr. Helms has been teaching for 6 years in Seminole County. "Mr. Helms is a person of competence, dedication and exemplary interpersonal skills. He is also extremely dependable and will go the extra mile in helping the students at Seminole County Middle/High School. One can count on Mr. Helms to do his best in all endeavors," according to his principal, Mr. Kent Richardson.
Mr. Register, System Superintendent, stated "Both of these teachers are a shining example of the best in Education. Teachers like Mrs. Wingertsahn and Mr. Helms are what makes Seminole County great!"
